Overview

Survival Analysis is a branch of statistics focused on analyzing and interpreting data where the outcome variable is the time until an event occurs, such as death, failure, or relapse. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts, methods, and applications of survival analysis. The course aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct survival analysis.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Understand the basic concepts and terminology of survival analysis, including censoring and survival functions
• Knowing how to set up the data for analysis
• Perform and interpret Kaplan-Meier survival curves and log-rank tests
• Compare groups
• Use Cox proportional hazards models to analyze survival data
• Apply survival analysis techniques using the statistical software R
• Evaluate the results of survival analysis studies

• Software: R will be used for illustration purposes and practical work
• Duration: 1 day
• Course dates: 16 October 2024, 13 November 2024
• Course hours: 9-16
• Location: Uppsala or online, depending on participant preferences. Please indicate your preferred option when applying.
• Price: 4900 SEK
• Language: Swedish or English (The course will be given in Swedish if only Swedish speakers attend; otherwise, it will be in English).
